Sig Sauer MCX Virtus Patrol is the 16″ variant in 5.56 NATO

Designed with the needs of modern warfighters in mind Sig Sauer’s MCX Virtus is the next generation of the AR platform. The rifle is modular by design, allowing for fast changes in caliber (5.56 NATO and 300 ACC Blackout) and configuration with minimal tool use, so much so that Sig Sauer claims it can be customized into over 500 configurations.

The MCX Virtus’ main feature is its gas operated short-stroke recoil system which is completely contained within the rifle’s upper receiver, eliminating the need for a buffer tube and allowing the rifle to utilize a folding stock. The rifle also utilizes Sig’s taper-lok muzzle system allowing user the ability easily and change the rifles muzzle attachments; the MCX was designed specifically to be suppressor friendly.
